As you know, Fordham University requires all members of our faculty, staff, and students to be fully vaccinated, and with the Delta and Omicron variants circulating and infection rates increasing, the University will require every member of our faculty, staff, and students to receive a COVID-19 vaccine booster dose prior to the start of classes for the spring 2022 semester or as soon as medically permissible. This CDC website outlines specific recommendations based on the original vaccine received.

In addition, the CDC has recently authorized people who received the COVID-19 vaccine outside the United States to receive a single booster dose of Pfizer vaccine at least 6 months after completing their primary series.

Fordham has all three FDA-authorized vaccines—Johnson & Johnson (Janssen), Pfizer, and Moderna—and will continue to offer booster shots to the Fordham community. You can make an appointment to receive the vaccine on campus on the vaccine information page.

To find a location to receive the vaccine off campus, search vaccines.gov, text your ZIP code to 438829, or call 1-800-232-0233 to find locations near you.

We will soon share instructions for uploading your updated vaccine records.

Sincerely,

Marco Valera
Vice President for Administration & COVID-19 Coordinator
