The National Weather Service is predicting 5 to 8 inches of snow, high winds, and hazardous road conditions in the New York City area beginning in the morning tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 13. We will be making the following modifications to our normal operations tomorrow:

Classes and Campuses
No in-person classes will be held: online classes will proceed as planned. Deans and instructors may contact their students with further information about alternative arrangements for classes affected by this announcement.

The Westchester Campus and Calder Center will be closed.

Staff who normally have in-person responsibilities at Rose Hill and Lincoln Center should expect to report to campus or check with their managers.

Campus Dining
Community Dining at Lincoln Center and the Marketplace at Rose Hill will open as scheduled, but other venues may close early dependent upon demand and staff availability (check @ramdining on Instagram, Facebook, & Twitter/X for up-to-the-minute updates on Dining hours). Cosi at Rose Hill will be closed.

University Health Services
University Health Services at Rose Hill and Lincoln Center will operate on their normal schedules: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Rose Hill, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Lincoln Center.

Counseling and Psychological Services

Counseling and Psychological Services will remain open on their normal schedules (9 a.m. to 7 p.m.) at Rose Hill and Lincoln Center.

Libraries
Walsh and Quinn Libraries will remain open as scheduled: Walsh Library 6:30 a.m. Tuesday to 2 a.m. on Wednesday; Quinn Library 7 a.m. to midnight, as study spaces with open stacks. The Maloney Law Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. as a study space.

Fitness Centers
Ram Fit at Rose Hill will be open on its regular schedule until 11 p.m. The fitness center at Lincoln Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Ram Vans
Ram Van service will end at 11 p.m. tonight (Monday), with the last van departing from Lincoln Center at 10:30 p.m., and service will resume on Wednesday at 6:15 a.m.

Campus Ministry
Mass will be celebrated in Dealy Chapel at Rose Hill at 12:05 p.m.

The Mardi Gras celebrations at Rose Hill and Lincoln Center are cancelled.

Please use caution while walking on campus, and avoid walking near or under large trees. Facilities staff will be on hand to clear snow from campus walkways and roads. To prepare for possible power outages, charge cell phone batteries, gather supplies, and turn your refrigerator and freezer to a colder setting. If you lose power, items that need refrigeration will stay cooler for longer. Local weather forecasts are imprecise, and the storm may be worse than predicted.

The National Weather Service is predicting up to eight inches of snow and high winds in the New York City area on Thursday, Feb. 18, and Friday, Feb. 19. All campuses of Fordham University will be closed on Thursday, with a delayed opening on Friday at 10 a.m.

  • Most in-person activities remain paused at the Rose Hill campus.
  • No in-person classes will be held on campus. Students should look for messaging directly from their instructors regarding online instruction during snow days.
  • Staff and administrators who are able to work remotely should plan on doing so—staff who are uncertain about their status should check with their managers.
  • Staff who normally have in-person responsibilities should expect to report to campus or check with their managers.
  • Dining service venues will open as scheduled, but some venues may close early dependent upon demand and staff availability.
  • University Health Services offices will be open on their normal schedules, and will also offer tele-health appointments as necessary.
  • Counseling and Psychological Services will be open for in-person services at Lincoln Center only—CPS will offer tele-appointments for both campuses.
  • The COVID-19 testing tent at Rose Hill and the testing site at Lincoln Center will be closed Thursday; both facilities will open at 10 a.m. Friday (people who have appointments on Thursday should reschedule them at their earliest convenience).
  • Walsh and Quinn Libraries will be open as study spaces only from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m., the Law Library will be closed, but the Law School will provide classroom study space for those who request it.
  • Ramfit at Rose Hill will remain closed—the fitness center at Lincoln Center will be closed.
  • Ram Van service remains suspended.

Due to continued precipitation and freezing temperatures, all evening classes are cancelled for the Rose Hill and Lincoln Center campuses today, Tuesday, February 12.

The University will resume normal operations on Wednesday, February 13.
The Men’s Basketball game against Davidson College in the Rose Hill Gymnasium will go on at 7 p.m. this evening, as scheduled.

Due to impending severe winter weather and poor travel conditions, Fordham Westchester and the Calder Center are closed on Tuesday, February 12. All daytime classes are cancelled for the Rose Hill and Lincoln Center campuses. All faculty, staff, and administrators are excused for the day. We anticipate all campuses open and operating at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 8.

There will be no Ram Van service on Wednesday: service will resume Thursday at 8 a.m. from Rose Hill and 9 a.m. from Lincoln Center. Personnel with reserved parking spots at Rose Hill are asked to move their vehicles to the indoor parking facility prior to midnight tonight (Tuesday) so that snowplows can operate freely on campus. Please do not resume parking in campus spots until Friday, March 9, to allow snow removal from the campus.

Dining Facilities
Rose Hill: The Marketplace will open at 7 a.m. Campus retail operations will open as staff is available, with Urban Kitchen and Starbucks taking priority.
Lincoln Center: The Ram Cafe will open at 7 a.m., but dining options may be limited until sufficient staff are available to provide the full menu. Community Dining will likewise open on its regular schedule, and provide menu options as staffing allows. The other campus retail operations will open as staff is available

University Health Services and Counseling and Psychological Services will open on their normal schedules at Rose Hill and Lincoln Center.

The Lombardi Center and fitness centers at the Rose Hill and Lincoln Center campuses will be open on their normal schedules.

The Quinn and Walsh Libraries will be open on their normal schedules, as study zones only; the Law Library will be closed.
