Unfortunately, the storm caused major disruptions at the Rose Hill campus, including widespread flooding of lower floors. The University deployed facilities crews and pumping equipment overnight. The locations most affected were the basements of Duane Library, McGinley Center, and Walsh Library (the basement of which will require substantive remediation, and that floor will remain closed until Tuesday, at least).

There was no significant damage at Lincoln Center: we experienced minor flooding in the lower floors of McMahon Hall and 140 W. 62nd Street. Some elevator shafts were flooded: they have been pumped dry and are undergoing inspection prior to being put back into service. There were no injuries to students, faculty, nor staff.

Due to storm damage, mass transit suspensions, and road flooding in New York City from Tropical Storm Ida, all campuses of Fordham University will be closed on Thursday, September 2.

• All day and evening classes are cancelled.
• All Facilities and Public Safety staff are expected to report to campus as scheduled.
• Other staff and administrators who are able to work remotely should plan on doing so—staff who are uncertain about their status should check with their managers.

All classes at Fordham University will be cancelled and all campuses closed on Thursday, February 9, due to severe weather forecast for the region.

Ram Vans will conclude service at Midnight tonight, Wednesday, February 8, and resume service at 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 9.

On Thursday, February 9:

Community Dining at Lincoln Center and the Marketplace at Rose Hill will open at 7 a.m.; Urban Kitchen, the Ram Café, and other retail venues will open as staff are available.

University Health Center offices at Rose Hill and Lincoln will be open on their regular schedules, as will Counseling and Psychological Services offices.

Walsh and Quinn Libraries will be open as study zones on their normal schedules; the Law Library will be closed.

The Recreation Center and Lombardi Center at Rose Hill be open on their normal schedules.

The Women’s Basketball Game at the Rose Hill Gym will take place as scheduled at 7 p.m., The Women’s Basketball Game in the Rose Hill Gym at 7 p.m. will go on as scheduled, as will the Fashion Show at the Law School at 9 a.m.

All Fordham other events are canceled, including the 7 p.m. Senior Night event: The Mighty Nineties, in the Cafeteria Atrium, Lincoln Center; and the 9 p.m. Senior Night event: 100 Nights, in the McGinley Center Ballroom, Rose Hill, both of which will be rescheduled.

Public Safety’s neighborhood shuttle service and shuttle service to local subway stations in the Rose Hill community will resume at 10 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24. Ram Van service will resume at 6:15 a.m. from Rose Hill and 7:15 a.m. from Lincoln Center on Monday, Jan. 25.

The Metropolitan Transit Authority has announced that subway, bus, and Metro North service will be at or near normal service levels on Monday, Jan. 25, but that Long Island Railroad service will likely not resume in time for the morning commute. With that in mind, Fordham students, faculty, and staff who normally rely on the Long Island Railroad may park at the Rose Hill campus at no charge, if they elect to drive.

The New York City Department of Transportation predicts roads in the city will be substantially cleared by the morning commute. Alternate side of the street parking will be suspended all week in New York City.

Martino Hall (45 Columbus Avenue) is closed as of 1:30 p.m. today and will remain closed Sunday, Jan. 24.

All classes at all campuses of Fordham University—including Fordham Westchester and the Calder Center—will be cancelled on Saturday, Jan. 23, and Sunday, Jan. 24, due to severe weather conditions anticipated in the New York area.

There will be no Ram Van service on Saturday and Sunday, though service may resume Sunday evening, as weather conditions allow. There will be no neighborhood shuttle service, nor shuttle service to local subway stations operating in the Rose Hill community on Saturday night.

Residential dining facilities will be open on their normal schedules at both the Lincoln Center and Rose Hill campuses. Retail operations will be open as staff is available.

University Health Services will be open at Lincoln Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday only; University Health Services at Rose Hill will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. The Lombardi Center, and fitness centers at the Rose Hill and Lincoln Center campuses will be open on their normal schedules.
